Thursdays: Restorative Yoga, 7:30 - 8:25 pm, FOLK NOPA *beginning 5/30*

No experience necessary, options for all bodies, levels and days. Freedom to make all the choices that best suit you.

I’ve been lucky enough to take Ally’s Yin and restorative classes and every time it feels like exactly what I needed. Ally guides each class with a soft, trusting voice that makes me feel at ease and helps me let go of what is happening outside of it. She creates an atmosphere with her music choices, poetry readings and moments of silence that provide the room full of students with direction as well as space. Her sequences are perfect for beginners and advanced students alike - allowing you to ask yourself what is best for you.

I never miss restorative yoga with Ally! This is basically laying around on pillows in gentle poses or stretches where you don’t have to activate any of your muscles. So relaxing! I find it so grounding, especially in the middle of the week. Being gentle with my body helps me be gentle with my mind, and gives me permission to indulge in self-care in all aspects of my life, something I struggle with. It helps me detach from the craziness of every day life. I always leave this class calm, relaxed, and with a dopey smile.

Ally is incredibly skilled, caring, and compassionate. I find myself sinking into rest and restoration as she guides us through poses, meditation, breathing, yoga philosophy, and even drinking tea! Her playlists are also wonderful, and I find myself listening to them often when I need relaxation and revitalization outside of class. I’m a big fan of her restorative and yin classes and her tea ceremonies.
